Preparing for the Future - It's Official!
At MOL we’ve been saying for months that we’re finding training is one of the few sectors actually benefiting from the recession. Now it’s official. CIPD have just published the results from their ‘Learning and Development’ survey confirming this.
It found that 70% of those surveyed disclosed that training was still an important consideration. Only around 33% thought it useful but not crucial. A sizeable 45% also believed that their training budget would remain the same for the next 12 months.
These are significant results. They prove that this country has organisations with the future in mind. History shows us that a recession is always followed by a significant upturn. Those with the foresight to see this are now investing heavily in this future, ready to ‘hit the ground’ running when the economy inevitably improves.
This is a trend that MOL sees demonstrated daily. Student enrolments onto CIPD programmes are ahead of last years. Employees are keen to use this period to improve the skill and knowledge of their work force, while students view this an ideal time to enhance career prospects with qualifications.
