Why choose a Level 4 Certificate in Facilities Management?
This course is a level 4 professional facilities management qualification, offered through BIFM.
The programme is designed to meet national standards for management in the UK and is internationally recognised. It is underpinned by the National Occupational Standards for Management and Leadership.
The course is suited to facilities managers with a number of years of experience, who are seeking to consolidate their skills and knowledge, or to establish a strong foundation for further career development. However, the course is available to everyone who is capable of reaching the required standards. Access to the course and progression are barrier free.
The programme prepares facilities managers to perform confidently and effectively as a member of the management team. It is directed towards people who do the job and may not have qualifications in facilities management. It is also open to people returning to work after a career break.
What areas does the Level 4 Certificate in Facilities Management course cover?
The course consists of the following units
- Overview of facilities management
- Managing health and safety in own area of facilities management
- Facilities management projects
- Sustainability and environmental issues and their impact on facilities management
- Risk management in facilities management
- Customer service in facilities management
How is the Level 4 Certificate in Facilities Management course delivered?
The course is delivered by flexible learning, consisting of:
- an induction programme
- five skills development workshops, focusing on the application of learning
- a comprehensive pack of learning materials, including MOL’s Facilities Management Series workbooks
- tutor support via email, telephone, fax, face-to-face and through our Virtual Learning Environment (VLE)
- peer support through networking with fellow learners to share experience and expertise within a learning community
Where do the workshops take place?
MOL has delivery venues throughout the UK. We generally use specialist conference centres.
We can also run in-house company training on your organisation’s premises (UK and international). Please see our information about bespoke training for your business.
How long does the Certificate in Facilities Management last?
Approximately 9-10 months
How will I be assessed?
You will need to complete:
- Short answer tests. Each of these comprises 10 questions, each question to be answered briefly and in not more than 150 words.
- One business project, focusing on the application of your knowledge and skills in a business environment.
- One personal development plan, which shows how you have developed as a person and as a manager during the course. This highlights your continuous professional development (CPD)
