The programme will be 12 months in duration and will be available nationally to the entire industry: large companies will be able to enrol groups of supervisors in their own ‘cohorts’, smaller firms will be able to enrol individuals onto open cohorts together with people from other companies in their region.

Attendance over the year totals just three days – inductions will take place at a regional centre or at a company’s premises and are followed by a two-day site practical on Lines and Levels. The rest of the programme is based on self study with plenty of tutor support by email, telephone and MOL’s Virtual Learning Environment (VLE).

The qualification requires completion of six modules (covered by nine workbooks) and assessment is carried out over six assignments. Individuals can take advantage of a competitive fee structure and payment terms, whilst a CITB grant may be available to registered companies.
