From the M8: Come off at the A720, The City of Edinburgh Bypass, at the roundabout, take the 2nd exit, then merge onto Glasgow Road-A8 (signposted City Centre).
Continue along the A8, past Edinburgh Zoo on the left, and through Corstorphine and Murrayfield, eventually passing Haymarket Station on your right hand side. Go straight ahead through the traffic lights along Shandwick Place until you pass House of Fraser. Move into the left hand lane and turn left at the lights onto South Charlotte St. At the bottom of the hill turn right onto Queens St. Continue straight ahead until you reach a large roundabout facing the Omi cinema. Take the last exit uphill (Leith St) and go straight ahead at the traffic lights making sure you are in the left hand lane. Turn left onto North Bridge. The hotel is 75 meters on the left.

From the North: Cross over The Forth Road Bridge; continue forward onto the A90 entering Edinburgh.
Continue forward for approximately 6 miles, at Blackhall junction traffic signals keep in the right hand lane, (signposted City Centre) at roundabout go straight ahead along Queensferry Road and through the next set of traffic lights. At the second set of lights turn left into Randolph Crescent. Turn left again onto Great Stuart St. Turn right onto Ainslie Place and then onto St Colme St/Queens St. Continue straight ahead until you reach a large roundabout facing the Omi cinema. Take the last exit uphill (Leith St) and go straight ahead at the traffic lights making sure you are in the left hand lane. Turn left onto North Bridge. The hotel is 75 meters on the left.

From the A74(M): exit at Junction 13 onto the A702 which eventually leads straight into Edinburgh. Once in the city, follow signs for Edinburgh Waverley train station. The Carlton Hotel is located on North Bridge which sits above the station, and adjacent to the Royal Mile.

From the South: follow the A1 right into the heart of Edinburgh. Once in the city, follow signs for Edinburgh Waverley train station. The Carlton Hotel is located on North Bridge which sits above the station, and adjacent to the Royal Mile.
