CIPD Flexible Learning+ (Professional Development Scheme – PDS)

CIPD Flexible Learning⁺ is an enhanced PDS programme awarded by the CIPD themselves and exclusively delivered on behalf of the CIPD by MOL across all areas of the UK.

CIPD Flexible Learning⁺ is designed for people who are already working in HR or training, who wish to advance their management career in personnel and development and become Chartered Members/Fellows of the CIPD.

It is a Masters level programme based on the CIPD's Professional Standards. The aim of CIPD Flexible Learning⁺ is to enable professionals working in HR or training to develop the skills, knowledge and wider business awareness to become HR practitioners.

CIPD Flexible Learning⁺ is structured to enable you to develop your expertise gradually, at the same time as working your way up through the CIPD membership structure. So, the programme divides the CIPD's Professional Standards into four ‘fields', which are

• People Management and Development (PM&D) – deals with strategic HR, and the horizontal and vertical integration of all aspects of HR. So, it binds all parts of the programme together
• Leadership and Management (L&M) – a key field of the PDS, this is a management programme for HR professionals designed to help you produce outstanding results for yourself and the people you manage, and to maximise the contribution of HR within your organisation
• Applied Personnel and Development (AP&D) – designed to show that you can put your learning into practice, this field comprises Management Research, an assessed report, and CPD log/plan
• Specialist and Generalist Personnel and Development (the Electives) – designed to provide a wide perspective of all areas of personnel and development, to enable you to make decisions about your future career. MOL offers the widest choice of Electives available

CIPD and MOL have developed a dedicated Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) for all learners undertaking CIPD Flexible Learning⁺. This interactive learning aid offers opportunities to network with course colleagues and tutors, giving further support and access to a variety of additional resources at no extra cost.

An advantage of studying with MOL is that we integrate the AP&D field into the PM&D programme, so there is no extra cost or time involved to achieve this.

What level of CIPD membership and what qualifications could I achieve?

You will have Affiliate Studying Member status, which is mandatory while you are studying. The cost of CIPD membership is not included in the course, and you will need to obtain membership directly with the CIPD.

MOL works with you during your studies to assist you in a swift and straightforward upgrade to Chartered Member or Chartered Fellow status on completion of CIPD Flexible Learning⁺.
