
CIPD Flexible Learning+ Leadership and Management Transition Programme
Who is this programme for?
The Leadership and Management Transition programme is for people who have completed either:
- People Management and Development (PM&D) on the CIPD Flexible Learning+ Advanced programme and wish to transition on to the new CIPD Advanced Diploma programme
- PM&D and the Applied Standards on the Flexible Learning+ Advanced programme and wish to transition on to the new CIPD Advanced Diploma programme
- PM&D, Applied Standards and four electives on the Flexible Learning+ Advanced programme and need the Leadership and Management field to complete their course of study
What is the content of the programme?
The Leadership and Management Transition programme consists of two modules from the Flexible Learning+ Advanced Leadership and Management field (Managing in a Strategic Business Context (MSBC), and Managing and Leading People (MLP)) and one element from the new Advanced Diploma programme (Developing Skills for Business Leadership (7SBL)).
Managing in a Strategic Business Context (MSBC) explores the following areas:
- The competitive environment
- The technological context
- Globalisation
- Demographic and social trends
- Government
- Regulation
- Developing strategy
- Social responsibility and ethics
Managing and Leading People (MLP) explores the
following areas:
- Criteria for successful organisational cultures
- Benefits of programmes designed to create organisational success through an engaged workforce
- Optimisation of employee performance and commitment
- Developing proposals for increased levels of people involvement, engagement and contribution
Developing Skills for Business Leadership (7SBL) explores the following areas:
- Managing self and interpersonal relationships at work more effectively
- Making decisions and solving problems more effectively
- Leading and influencing others more effectively
- Interpreting financial information and managing financial resources
- Demonstrating enhanced IT proficiency
- Demonstrating a people management skill set and competence in postgraduate study skills
How long will the programme take?
The Leadership and Management Transition programme has a total of nine workshops over the course of twelve months:
- Two workshops for MSBC
- Two workshops for MLP, and
- Three workshops and two Action Learning Sets for 7SBL
How is the programme assessed?
The Leadership and Management Transition programme is assessed in the following ways:
- MSBC: One written assignment and one CIPD national examination
- MLP: One written assignment and one CIPD national examination
- 7SBL: One Development portfolio
How much does the programme cost?
The programme costs £3225* (no VAT payable); this price includes all workshops, materials and ongoing tutor/facilitator support. The only additional charges are those payable to CIPD for membership and examinations. The programme is available in selected locations throughout the UK (subject to demand).
