As well as original material and support provided by MOL, the programme uses AutoCAD software, provided by Autodesk UK and extensive materials by Datacell, who provide specialist services to education and industry.

We provide all the necessary coursework material, practical sessions, telephone and email support plus registration with City & Guilds.

On joining the course:

  • An introductory handbook
  • Notification of induction session
  • Open learning materials with CD-ROM support
  • A Student Progress / Mock Assessment Log
  • A schedule of available skills workshops
  • A detailed explanation of the course structure and assessment methods
  • Allocation of a personal tutor
  • AutoCAD software and demonstration of installation if required

Throughout the course:

  • Telephone and email access to your tutor with a timely response to your contacts made at reasonable times
  • Maintenance of contact by your tutor
  • Marking and written feedback on assessments

MOL has a Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) which is a set of teaching and learning tools designed to enhance a student's learning experience by including computers and the Internet in the learning process. The principal components of the VLE are:
  • Online support (e.g. lecture notes, activities with feedback, etc.)
  • Electronic communication (including email, discussions and chat)
  • Links to other Internet resources
